Another factor that is going to plague Kazatomprom is the electrical shortage the country is facing. Energy officials forecast a growing gap between electricity consumption and production, with a shortfall expected to reach 3.3 billion kilowatt hours by 2025.

The country's power grid is divided into three distinct zones, causing distribution challenges and preventing excess production in one zone from offsetting deficits in another, forcing Kazakhstan to turn to Russia for help, opening it up for greater geopolitical risk. Electricity is needed in mining.

Very interesting. Especially as electricity consumption for in situ leaching in Kazakhstan seems to be more expensive than elsewhere... "Unit power consumption is about 19 kWh/kgU (16 kWh/kg U3O8) in Australia and around 33 kWh/kgU in Kazakhstan" (World Nuclear Association)

Nice. Some time ago I bought some ASX:NGE, which is what we call a Listed Investment Company in Australia. 20 % of it's investments are Yellow Cake PLC and another 8 % in Sproutt, which was largely why I bought in and also because it trades at a discount.
